Dr Falkner’s article, 'Private Environmental Governance and International Relations: exploring the links' (Global Environmental Politics 3:2, 2003), has been included in the list of 50 influential journal articles published in MIT Press journals, in honour of the Press’ 50th anniversary. Dr Falkner| is in the International Relations Department at LSE and also a Grantham associate.

Giles Atkinson| has become a member of the Committee at the Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs. The Natural Capital Committee will provide advice on the state of English Natural Capital to the Economic Affairs Cabinet Committee, chaired by the Chancellor of the Exchequer.
The Centre for the Analysis of Time Series (CATS) at LSE will be hosting a reception and book launch, on 23 May, of Arthur Petersen's book, 'Simulating Nature: a philosophical study of computer-simulation uncertainties and their role in climate science and policy advice' (second Edition). As part of the Lionel Robbins Memorial Lectures 2012, Nicholas Stern will give three lectures over three successive days (Tuesday 21, Wednesday 22 and Thursday 23 February). Five years on from the Stern Review, there have been important changes in the world, which are likely to have a profound impact on our response to the two defining challenges of the century, overcoming poverty and managing climate change. Lord Stern will discuss how we can bring economics and political economy to the analysis of our response to these challenges in the context of a special but difficult decade in the global economy.
