Latin America International Affairs Programme Secures British Academy Grant|

The LAIAP and Fundaçao Getulio Vargas have been awarded a joint British Academy grant worth £20,000 to organise two international conferences in Rio de Janeiro and London to discuss Brazil's role in Latin America during the Cold War and post-Cold War eras.

The recent decision by the Colombian government to allow U.S. forces to establish seven military bases on Colombian territory has provoked widespread interest and concern within Colombia, among it neighbours, and further afield in the region.
