Mladena and Dianko Sotirov BIAP Visiting Fellowship

The LSE IDEAS is pleased to announce the establishment of the Mladena and Dianko Sotirov LSE IDEAS Balkan Programme Visiting Fellowship, thanks to the generous endowment by Mrs Mladena Sotirov.

Recipients of this Fellowship will be working within the LSE IDEAS Balkan International Affairs Programme –which aims to promote the understanding of the recent history and the international affairs of the region,  the challenges it faces today and the prospects of tomorrow.

This Fellowship amounts to £3000 and should cover a two, maximum three-month stay in London between 1 July and 30 September 2012, namely travel expenses, accommodation and subsistence. The recipient will have access to shared office space at the LSE IDEAS Centre and enjoy privileges of the LSE Fellow, including access to the LSE Library, its IT resources and to all events organised at the LSE

Candidates

This visiting fellowship is intended to provide support, primarily but nor exclusively, to scholars in the early stages of their career, namely doctoral candidates and post-docs whose work and research focuses on the topics related to the history and international affairs of Bulgaria and the Balkans in the Twentieth Century and beyond. Although candidates of Bulgarian nationality will have priority, this fellowship is also awarded to candidates of non-Bulgarian nationality.
