Pablo Pareja-Alcaraz was a Visiting Research Student at LSE IDEAS from the International Relations at the Universitat Pompeu Fabra.
Pablo Pareja-Alcaraz is Lecturer in International Relations at the Universitat Pompeu Fabra (UPF) and Academic Coordinator of the Master in International Relations program at the Institut Barcelona d'Estudis Internacionals (IBEI) in Barcelona, Spain. A graduate in Political Science and Public Administration, he pursued postgraduate studies at the London School of Economics (MSc in European Studies: EU policy making) and Georgetown University, Washington D.C (MSc in Foreign Service) between 2001 and 2004.
Prior to joining the UPF and IBEI, he also worked at the University of the Western Cape in South Africa, Human Rights Watch, and the Washington Office of El País. In addition, he gained some field experience as an electoral observer in the 2003 electoral process in Cambodia. Since 2007 he has been a member of the Board of Directors of the Spanish Association of the United Nations. His most recent publications include the volume Security and conflict in East Asia: China, regional order and maritime disputes (co-authored with Caterina García and Josep Ibáñez; Generalitat de Catalunya, 2009) and East Asia's regional security order (ICPS, 2008). His research interests include International Relations Theory, International Relations in East Asia and Foreign Policy analysis.
