Iben Bjoernsson

IbinIben Bjoernsson was a Visiting Research Student at LSE IDEAS from the University of Copenhagen.

Ms Bjoernsson has an MPhil in History from the University of Copenhagen and completed part of her BA at Keele University, UK, in International Relations. She is a PhD scholar at the Department of History, University of Copenhagen, Denmark. Her research area is anti-Communism in the Scandinavian/Nordic countries during the Cold War. More specifically, the PhD-project looks at cooperation and coordination between the Nordic labour movements in the battle against Communism, and their links to the British Information Research Department, Foreign Office and Ministry of Labour.

Ms Bjoernsson won the Danish Labour History Prize for her MPhil-thesis on the Danish anti-Communist organisation AIC, which will be published in early 2011. She will defend her PhD thesis in 2012.
