The Cold War Studies Programme organises a highly successful annual Graduate Student conference in conjunction with George Washington University and the University of California - Santa Barbara. These conferences have become very important venues for presenting new work on Cold War history, and bring together scholars from Europe, Russia, the United States, China and many of the nations of the former 'Third World' in which the Cold War was contested.
In addition IDEAS has hosted major conferences on Cold War topics, both directly through the CWSP itself and through the work of regional programmes including the Africa Programme and the Latin America Programme|.
