The MSc in Health Economics, Policy and Management at the London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE) provides an opportunity to engage with the UK's top academics, policy-makers and professionals in international health. This program is Europe's only modular MSc in the field. Participants will be taught by leading UK and European academics in the areas of health economics, management and policy. Your peers in the programme will include a diverse group of professionals from various health services, insurance funds, international agencies and health care, pharmaceutical and consulting companies from across the globe.
Participants will attend four two-week intensive teaching sessions at the LSE over the course of two years. These intensive sessions will include a combination of academic lectures and seminars, individual meetings with faculty supervisors, revision sessions and invitations to lectures from visiting academics and policy-makers.
In total, participants will attend 8 half unit courses taught over the course of 4.5 days each. These courses will include four compulsory modules: Health Economics, Financing Health Care, Resource Allocation and Cost-effectiveness Analysis and Health Administration and Management. Electives will include classes on topics such as pharmaceutical economics, health policy, medical statistics, health care operations management and clinical trials and healthcare information systems.
The MSc will take two years with a start date in December 2011 and graduation in December 2013. Certificate (1 year - 4 half units) and diploma (1.5 years - 6 half units) options are also available.
We operate a rolling admissions process so applying early will increase your chances that the MSc has spaces left. The application process requires a short statement of interest, two references and an academic transcript or transcripts. There is more information on applying on page 10 of the programme brochure| and at the Graduate Admissions Website|.
We are no longer able to consider new applications for December 2011 but from 11th October 2011 onwards prospective students will be able to apply through the Graduate Admissions website| for places in December 2012.
