Biography
Cristina Hernández Quevedo is Technical Officer at the European Observatory on Health Systems and Policies (WHO), based at LSE Health. Cristina's research focuses on equity in health care, in particular, cross-country analysis of the socioeconomic inequalities in health across the European Union Member States. Cristina obtained her PhD in Economics at the University of York, studying reporting bias of self-reported measures of health, the measurement of socioeconomic inequalities in health across the European Union and the persistence of health outcomes across time, focusing on health limitations. During her PhD at York, Cristina worked as a Research Fellow in an EU-funded project known as ECuity Project, lead by Prof. Andrew Jones (University of York) and Prof. Eddy van Doorslaer (Erasmus University Rotterdam). Cristina obtained her MSc in Health Economics at the University of York, after a BSc in Economics at University of Las Palmas de Gran Canaria (ULPGC), Spain.
