Scrutinising the latest science stories in the news, Ben Goldacre debunks dodgy scientific research and exposes the misrepresentation of medical science and social statistics in the media. He explains for a lay audience how to detect 'bad science', and bad science journalism, and their serious implications for both science and society.
Ben Goldacre is an award-winning writer and broadcaster, author of the weekly 'Bad Science' column in The Guardian and recently published best-selling book of the same title. He works full time in London for the NHS.
This event is organised in conjunction with the London Public Understanding of Science Seminars| and NatCen|.
