Business Partnerships is responsible for designing, developing and managing long-term relationships with businesses. We connect corporate strategy with academic research to help companies, of all sizes, address specific challenges or explore new opportunities.
Partnering with LSE offers businesses the opportunity to co-create social science research, engage in influential debates on a global stage and increase their understanding of the environments in which they operate.
We help business partners to:
explore strategic alliances with academics and the School
identify how core business challenges and aims can be matched to the School's research expertise
design bespoke collaboration structures (governance, agenda-setting, deliverables, networking, etc.).
We help academics to:
identify and engage with companies with shared research interests
manage new and existing collaborations with the private sector, including industry events, proposal writing and budgeting
navigate relevant School policies and procedures.
We are also responsible for managing research partnership projects, operating as an intermediary to ensure that business and research interests are brought together in the most productive and mutually rewarding manner.
LSE has grown to become one of the foremost social science universities in the world, with an academic profile spanning a wide range of disciplines - from economics, politics and law, to sociology, information systems, and finance.
LSE confirmed its position as a world-leading research university with an outstanding performance in the 2014 Research Excellence Framework (REF). An analysis of the results show LSE as the top university in the UK based on the proportion of 'world leading' (4*) research produced, and second in the UK overall when universities are ranked using a 'grade point average' (GPA).
