The CCPN was initiated by scholars from the Asia Research Centre and the Department of Anthropology of the London School of Economics. The CCPN enlists nearly two dozen LSE China experts as CCPN Management Committee members|, core members|, Academic Advisory Committee members|, or Editorial Board members| of the Journal of China in Comparative Perspective.
The CCPN engages principally with the following departments and institutions: Anthropology, Development, Economic History, Economics, Finance, Government, International History, International Relations, Law, Management, Media and Communication, Social Policy, Sociology and Statistics.
The CCPN aims to become a world-class locus for research on issues or themes relating to China in comparative perspective. We are multi-disciplinary and aim to link and pool the expertise of all experts on China seeking comparative and inter-disciplinary approaches to China-related topics.
The CCPN sets up a 'Researchers Fostering Laboratory' to provide real opportunities for researchers and students from all levels who are interested in China related studies to build up their experiences via exploring and developing different kinds of projects.
From LSE, UK, Hong Kong and China we have recruited 10 voluntary research assistants (2008-09) - undergraduate and MSc students, PhD candidates, and post-doctoral research fellow. They originally come from China, Hong Kong, Vietnam, Germany, Denmark, USA and Canada.
Their subjects cover the following disciplines: anthropology, political sociology, Chinese studies, economics, information technology, management, economic and business management, development and management.
Under the directorship of Chair of CCPN MC and CCPN Director, supported by Core members at LSE, Academic Advisory Members, and all the CCPN members and associates CCPN is fasting growing.
