LSEE - Research on South Eastern Europe (LSEE) welcomes applications for Visiting Fellows and Visiting Senior Fellows by academics or policy practitioners who may want to spend a period of 6 - 12 months at the LSE to conduct independent research on a topic relevant to the work of the LSEE. Longer visits may, by exception, be approved and shorter visits may also be considered.

Dr Jelena Lausev
Joins LSEE as a Visiting Fellow from 1 May - 31 Dec 2012.
With a PhD in Economics from the University of Nottingham, Jelena is currently Assistant Professor in Economics at Belgrade University where she teaches Principles of Economics and Economics in Transition.
Her Research Topic will be on ‘The Great Recession and the Public Sector Pay Gap in Eastern and Non-Eastern European Countries.’

Dr Kenneth Morrison
Joins LSEE as a Visiting Senior Fellow until 29 June 2012. Principal research interests lie in the field of Southeast European studies with emphasis on ethno-religious and ethno-political conflict, and the wider historical process of nation and state building in communist and post-communist states.
Kenneth is a Senior Lecturer in Modern European History within the Faculty of Humanities at De Montfort University, Leicester, having previously held posts at UCL School of Slavonic and East European Studies (SSEES), Birkbeck College, University of London and Aberdeen University. His first monograph 'Montenegro: a modern history' was published in 2009; his second book is a co-authored history of the Sandžak. Amongst others, projects include a paper in the LSEE Paper Series 'Change, Continuity and Consolidation: Assessing Five Years of Montenegro's Independence'; an official history of the Special Operations Executive (SOE) in Yugoslavia (1941-1945), and working on a book focusing on sport as an integrative and disintegrative force in the Socialist Federal Republic of Yugoslavia (1945-2006).
