Within LSE's lively Public Lectures programme|, the Hellenic Observatory contributes to the presence of Greece in Britain through a number of public lectures.
Currently there are three series of annual public lectures:
HO Annual Lecture, supported by the endowment of the Venizelos Chair;
London Hellenic Society Lecture, funded with the support of the London Hellenic Society;
Byron Theodoropoulos Lecture, funded by a grant from the Greek Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
Past keynote speakers in our various public lectures series include His All Holiness, the Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew (LHS Lecture); the Prime Minister of Greece, Dr Costas Karamanlis| (HO 2006 Lecture); and the former Ambassador H.E. Byron Theodoropoulos| (BTH Lecture).
In Autumn 2007 we had the honour to host the Greek Minister of Foreign Affairs, Mrs Dora Bakogiannis (link|) and the former Prime Minister, Dr Costas Simitis (link|).
