Research Interests
His main research interests include the 'Idea of Europe' in the 21st century; the politics of European integration; and the legitimacy of EU policy-making. He researches the dialectic of domestic politics and the process of Europeanization; how the politics of European integration is influenced by the emergence of new institutional practices and norms in EU policymaking; the potential impact of increasing partisan preferences on EU politics; and how EU reform can best be legitimised in the light of constitutional and other constraints.
