Finance Programmes
The Department of Finance offers teaching at both the undergraduate and postgraduate level. Our programmes offer students an opportunity to study with internationally acknowledged researchers in the subject areas. Students take courses| that examine the theory and practice of many aspects of finance that are key to understanding how financial institutions and markets operate around the world.
The Department of Finance offers four specialist taught masters programmes;
It also runs a formalised PhD Finance| programme for those interested in doctoral study in the field.
The Department of Finance offers undergraduate teaching via the BSc Accounting and Finance|, which is a joint degree run in conjunction with the Department of Accounting. Other joint degree programmes include the MSc Accounting and Finance| and the Diploma in Accounting and Finance|.
MSc Finance (Part-time) Information Evenings
Information Evenings are held throughout the year for students interested in applying to the programme. The evenings give prospective applicants the opportunity to listen to a series of presentations about the programme, experience a sample lecture, and speak individually to current students and staff involved in the programme. The MSc Finance (Full-time) and the MSc Finance and Private Equity programmes are identical with the exception of one exclusive, mandatory course in Private Equity available only to MSc Finance and Private Equity students, in which those students must do their dissertation.
Therefore, applicants should not select one of these programmes as their first choice and the other as their second choice. Instead, applicants should select their preferred programme only. If the MSc Finance and Private Equity is the preferred option, applicants should demonstrate why they are particularly suitable for, and want to study, private equity.
