Feminist Judgment Symposium (25 May 2012) |

Feminist-JudgmentThis one-day symposium seeks to explore the nature and problem of feminist judgment.  Confirmed speakers include Clare Hemmings, KIm Hutchings, Sonia Kruks, Jennifer Nedelsky and Linda Zerilli.  An all-day event scheduled for Friday 25 May. Co-hosted by the Department of Government.

 
2012-13 Academic Year

We are still confirming dates and speakers for next academic year, but our 2012-13 programme of events is coming soon.  2013 will be the Gender Institute's 20th Anniversary so expect some exciting events!  This year, our Gendering the Social Sciences Public Lecture series will be brought to you in collaboration with STICERD.

Richard Dyer Public Lecture (3 Oct 2012)|

RichardDyerRichard Dyer will kick off the Gendering the Social Sciences Public Lecture series on 3 October 2012.  Dyer is Professor in the celebrated Department of Film Studies at King's College London and will be speaking about his exciting new research on the serial killer in European cinema.  We are extremely excited to be hosting Professor Dyer, as his work is regarded particularly highly within the Gender Institute.

Robyn Wiegman Public Lecture (3 Dec 2012)

Robyn-WiegmanIn collaboration with the Journal of Feminist Theory, we will be hosting Robyn Wiegman when she speaks at the Gender Institute in December. Wiegman is Professor of Women's Studies and Literature at Duke University. Her publications include Who Can Speak: Identity and Critical Authority (1995), Feminism Beside Itself (1995), AIDS and the National Body (1997), The Futures of American Studies (2002), and Women's Studies on Its Own (2002).
