Welcome to the LSE Gender Institute

orientationPic2011Orientation 2011

The word Orientation at LSE refers to the weeks leading up to the beginning of the first term when students are introduced to their home department (in this case, the Gender Institute) and to the School as a whole. There will be a host of events to familiarize students with services available at LSE and you'll be able to sign up to societies and attend events where you can meet other students. Watch out for news from LSE about School orientation events.

The LSE Orientation process will equip you with the knowledge and contacts for getting the most out of your time at LSE, whilst the Gender Institute Orientation will acquaint you with your specific programme, courses and departmental faculty.

orientation2011On Day 3 (Friday 30 September) students will have the opportunity to attend a dynamic, interactive all-day student-led orientation event led by Gender Institute PhD students.  This workshop is unique to the GI and will introduce new students to what it's like studying for an MSc in the gender field and what to expect in the course of a year with us. This will be followed by a Welcome Evening Reception in the Gender Institute Open Space, which are always a lot of fun.  Click here| to see what students got up to at last year's workshop.

Further details (such as times and venues) will be circulated nearer the time.

Questions about studying at the Gender Institute?

We have a Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)| section of the Gender Institute website, which we have tried hard to tailor to our most frequent enquiries from prospective students.

These include...
