LSE Geography & Environment up to 2nd overall in the Complete University Guide 2013|

The department has climbed above Oxford in the latest subject tables, with an impressive score of 99.2 out of 100.
We also retain by far the best graduate prospects rating in the country, proving our students are in high demand with potential employers.

LSE as a whole climbed into 2nd place in the university rankings|, reflecting a strong showing across the School.

 
Giles Atkinson

Dr. Giles Atkinson has been appointed as a member of the Natural Capital Committee|, designed to help the UK government to support and improve the UK’s natural assets. Reporting to the Economic Affairs Committee and the Chancellor, the Natural Capital Committee| has the opportunity to truly influence the economic policy of the UK for the good of the natural environment.

Giles Atkinson| is Reader in Environmental Policy at LSE.

 
PhotoPrize2012

Congratulations to Professor Sylvia Chant| and Dr. Hyun Bang Shin|, for their success in the LSE Photo Prize 2012. Sylvia's picture was awarded 3rd prize overall, while Hyun's image was one of 42 finalists.

The MSc Regional and Urban Planning Studies| is excited to announce the foundation of a new student prize in conjunction with Gensler|.

The winner of the Gensler Best Student Award |will receive a prize of £500 plus the opportunity of an interview with Gensler.

Congratulations are due to James Mak, recent graduate of BA Geography |at the LSE, who has won the national RGS-IBG Developing Areas Research Group |2011 prize for his undergraduate dissertation entitled, "Spaces in the reconstruction of post conflict Cambodia".
