Jaideep Mukherjee is a Research Associate and Lecturer in the Centre for Mass Communications Research at the University of Leicester. He is currently working on a project on the 'Status of Teachers' with Anders Hansen (CMCR) and colleagues at the Faculty of Education, University of Cambridge.
His research interests include the media representation of ethnic minorities and frontline professions, debates on globalisation and cultural identity and Indian cinema and its global consumption.
In 2002/3 he led a study funded by the East Midlands Development Agency investigating cross-sectoral opportunities for organisations in the East Midlands region to build partnerships with India's creative industries.
