There are many sources of help for students who wish to seek advice, guidance or support.
Within the department you can speak to your various people such as:
Your personal tutor, you can email or call them to arrange an appointment to meet with them. Alternatively, you can see your tutor in their office hours|. Any students who, for any reason, are unable to contact their tutor, should inform Hannah Wood or Jonathan Hopkin.
You can also seek advice from the departmental tutor, Jonathan Hopkin who is based in room CON 5.18 in Connaught House. He can be contacted on 020 7955 6535.
Hannah Wood is the Student Advisor for Undergraduate students and you can approach her for advice and guidance. She is based in CON 3.18 - you can call and see her during CON 3.18 opening hours (10.30 - 12.30 and 1.30 - 3.30pm during term time). The LSE runs a Student Counselling Service which is free and available to all registered students at the school. There are 6 counsellors who work for the school and appointments are available between 10 - 4pm Monday to Friday. The Students' Union also runs an Advice and Counselling Centre which is another free service available to all registered students. The advice centre is located in the East Building and you can make an appointment by calling: 020 7955 7145. The LSE and the Students Union have worked together ro set up and new confidential 'Chinese Student Helpline' run by the Chinese Healthy Living Centre. Advisors speak English, Cantonese or mandarin. It may appropriate to seek help from the LSE Disability office who offer help and support to students with disabilities. During the exam period, any student wishing to enquire about making an appeal or submitting mitigation should contact the Student Services Centre.

Nightline is a confidential support service run by students, for students. They offer a free, confidential listening service for a whole range of problems and topics. 'Get Connected' is another national helpline for anybody in the UK under the age of 25. They advise on various issues and can refer onto other support services specifically focused on a specific issues. Careline is a free confidential counseling service for young people in crisis. They offer telephone advice between 10am - 1pm and 7pm - 10pm. There are contactable by calling: 020 8514 1177
The Samaritans hold walk in sessions between 9am-9pm, seven days a week at Marshall Street, Soho (not far from the LSE campus). You can call them on 020 7734 2800.
Victim support offers free and confidential support for victims of crime. The charity also operates the Victim Supportline on 0845 30 30 900.The line is open 9am - 9pm weekdays, 9am - 7pm weekends, 9am - 5pm on bank holidays. You can view their website here: http://www.victimsupport.com/|.
