Welcome to the webpage of the Political Theory Group in the Department of Government at the London School of Economics and Political Science.

The LSE is a leading centre for the study of political theory and philosophy, constituting one of the UK's largest concentrations of researchers in this area and related fields. The Political Theory Group is based in the Department of Government and maintains close relations with political theorists and philosophers in other parts of the School, for example in the Departments of Law, Philosophy and International Relations.

One of the Group's key assets is the breadth and diversity of its members' interests and expertise, ranging from the history of political thought, to contemporary moral and political philosophy and its applications, to the philosophy of social science and rational and social choice theory.

The Group is characterized by a vibrant research culture, centred around an active doctoral programme and other seminars, and a research-led teaching programme at MSc level, which attracts students from many different parts of the world.

This webpage seeks to provide information about the Group and its activities.
