The ESRC NGPA programme set aside a sum of money to support some fellowships.

International visiting fellowships 

The ESRC Non-Governmental Public Action Programme (NGPA) called for applications for senior International Visiting Fellows to be taken up during the period between May 2008 and March 2009.

These were aimed at senior academics with recognised expertise in the area of non-governmental public action.

Practitioner fellowships

The ESRC Non-governmental Public Action Research Programme called for applications for Practitioner Fellowships. The fellowships were aimed at members or representatives of practitioner groups (including developmental NGOs, global coalitions, voluntary sector groups, cooperatives, human rights groups etc) that were not directly funded by specific research projects in the programme.

The fellowships take two forms:

  1. Analytic and conceptual reflection
  2. Policy/ practical application
