The International Relations Department has two Staff-Student Liaison Committees.
A Staff-Student Liaison Committee for Taught Course Students meets once a term to discuss matters of common interest. This is a consultative, not an executive, body and consists of an academic staff member as Chair, the undergraduate Departmental Tutor, MSc Programme Directors, the Departmental Manager and two representatives from each category of taught course students in the department - first-year, second-year and third-year undergraduates; General Course students; MSc IR and MSc IPE. Sciences Po-LSE Double Degree in Affaires Internationales and IR/IPE students, who are required to take either the MSc IR or MSc IPE, are represented on these programmes. Any taught course student of the Department, however, is welcome to come to the meetings of the SSLC and participate in the discussion.
A Staff-Research Student Liaison Committee has a similar format. It meets once a term to discuss matters of common interest. It is chaired by the International Relations Department's Doctoral Programmes Director and is attended by representatives of new and continuing research students and the Departmental Manager.
The elections of the SSLC and SRSLC representatives take place in week two of Michaelmas Term at one of the lectures/seminars commonly attended by all the students of the appropriate programme. Their names and email addresses are available on the Staff-Student Liaison Committee Members |page, on LSE network computers only. Names and photographs are also posted on the SSLC noticeboard on the sixth floor of Clement House.
