Start Up in a Day 2012

Considering starting your own business or social enterprise? Or interested in gaining skills that will be useful in the world of business? Venture@LSE Careers has organised a brand new daylong event dedicated to helping students who want to start their own business or gain entrepreneurial skills useful for any career. Events include an entrepreneurial forum and networking reception, masterclass to help you start your business in a day and 1:1 appointments with entrepreneurial and taxation specialists. Focus on India 2012

The Focus on India event consists of one panel event which will discuss ‘Philanthropy in India’ and one networking session with attendees including Accenture Global Talent Network, Freshfields, Herbert Smith and Research Foundation for Governance in India (RFGI). This event is targetted towards students interested in finding out more about working in India, the UK or globally and is suitable for students studying any discipline, at any level. Opportunities are not just restricted to those with an Indian background, and anyone considering a global career should find this event useful.
European Internship Fair Q&A Seminar

This will give you an overview of the event and information on how to book, BEFORE the event booking opens. Places at the fair tend to be in high demand and booked quickly, so please do come to these information seminars to see whether this event is for you. Setting Up Your Own NGO
Wednesday 15th February, 3pm-5pm, book via My Careers Service.
This skills session is all about setting up a development NGO from scratch, using examples from The Moringa Tree. Participants will learn how to develop ways to earn income – from gigs, grants and partnerships to new Fundraising initiatives. This event is part of Development Month 2012.
Challenge, Success, Make a Difference- Can You Have it All?

This unique forum brings together speakers from the NGO, Social Enterprise, Government and Private Sector to discuss how you can have a career that’s ethical and makes a positive difference to the world. This event is part of Development Month 2012.
