Using Cloud Computing to Drive Innovation: Technological Opportunities and Management Challenges
Cloud computing is seen by many business and technology managers as enabling a delivery model for business services and IT that can drive innovation in organisations. In this talk Edgar Whitley will draw on recent research undertaken by the LSE Outsourcing Unit on cloud computing which highlights the technological opportunities the cloud presents, from cost reduction through data centre consolidation through to innovating business services. Moving to a "cloud corporation", however, is not without its own specific management challenges and Edgar will present the latest thinking about the skills needed to manage this new organisational form.
