Liz Cowie - Junior Designer
Liz graduated two years ago and then spent three months designing in New York and a year working for a small design studio in east London. She joined LSE in May 2010.

Ailsa Drake - Senior Designer
Ailsa has over 14 years experience in art and design and arrived at the Design Unit in 2000. She has established a broad illustrative and typographic style with many LSE publications including the Summer School literature and the LSE Magazine.

Claire Harrison - Art Director (currently on maternity leave)
Claire is responsible for the running of the Design Unit. Claire has worked in the design industry for over ten years, working for a marketing company before joining the Design Unit in 2001. She has a strong knowledge of creative design, typography and corporate brand design.

Jonathan Ing - Art Director
Jonathan has 24 years commercial design experience, eleven years web design and thirteen years design for print. He joined the LSE Design Unit in January 2011. His role is split between print design and web design, working closely with the web team on graphics for various LSE online projects.

Mina Moshkeri Upton - Head of Cartography
Mina is responsible for the cartographic work within the Design Unit as well as working on a variety of design jobs. Mina has had a varied career in cartography and design working for surveying companies before arriving from Cranfield University to LSE in 1991.Mina has produced maps and diagrams for a number of LSE academic books including: Koran, Kalashnikov and Laptop. The Neo-Taliban Insurgency in Afghanistan by Antonio Giustozzi, The new economy and earnings inequalities: explaining social, spatial and gender divisions in the UK and London by Diane Perrons and From the Corn Laws to Free Trade Interests, Ideas, and Institutions in Historical Perspective by Cheryl Schonhardt-Bailey
