The title 'Teaching and Learning Centre' suggests exclusive focus on 'teaching and learning', but our remit goes beyond this, to all aspects of the academic role, and covers four broad areas:
-
Internal policy development and advice on developments in the higher education (HE) sector, both within the UK and further afield, concerning teaching and learning issues.
-
Academic staff development, including development related to teaching, research, administration and career/ personal development. We work closely with the Staff Development Unit, and all staff in the School are welcome at our events, though they are often targeted at particular staff groups.
-
Educational development, which involves active work with colleagues on developing teaching, learning and assessment at LSE, and research into pedagogic issues at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels.
-
Study support, including the Disability and Well-being Service and the Student Counselling Service. To book an appointment with the Study Support or Student Counselling Service, please click HERE.
We are connected to various other services around the school as part of the Academic and Professional Development Division| (APD):
