Revd Dr James Walters
I am here to provide non-judgemental pastoral care to any student or member of staff who seeks it and to support religious life and cohesion within the wider LSE community. I have been in post since 2010 and have found it a great privilege to work at such a dynamic institution with people from all over the world.
Before ordination I worked as a parliamentary assistant to a Member of Parliament and the interface between the Church and society has always been the focus of my ministry and my research. I've also been involved in interfaith dialogue for many years and hope that the Chaplaincy at LSE can be place where good relationships are formed between people of different backgrounds and religious beliefs.
I have come to the LSE from a parish in north London and before that I was a postgrad at Cambridge. I loved being a student but I also remember some pretty low patches too. So if you want to talk to someone outside the academic system without any expectation of religious commitment, you're welcome to come and see me.
I have an office in the Chaplaincy (G9b) on the ground floor of 20 Kingsway. You can contact me on 020 7955 7965 or at j.walters2@lse.ac.uk| . My office does not have disabled access so if this would prevent you from visiting, please contact me and I will come to you.
