Revd Dr James Walters
Anglican Chaplain and LSE Faith Advisor

As full-time Anglican Chaplain to the LSE I am here to provide non-judgemental pastoral care to any student or member of staff who seeks it and to support religious life and cohesion within the wider LSE community.
Before ordination I worked as a parliamentary assistant to a Member of Parliament and the interface between the Church and society has always been the focus of my ministry and my research. I've also been involved in interfaith dialogue for many years and hope that the Chaplaincy at LSE can be place where good relationships are formed between people of different backgrounds and religious beliefs.
I have come to the LSE from a parish in north London and before that I was a postgrad at Cambridge. I loved being a student but I also remember some pretty low patches too. So if you want to talk to someone outside the academic system without any expectation of religious commitment, you're welcome to come and see me.
I have an office in the Chaplaincy (G9b) on the ground floor of 20 Kingsway. You can contact me on 020 7955 7965 or at j.walters2@lse.ac.uk| . My office does not have disabled access so if this would prevent you from visiting, please contact me and I will come to you.
Fr Iain Matthew OCD
Roman Catholic Chaplain
I am Iain Matthew, a Catholic priest, member of a religious order called the Carmelites who live in small communities, seek to pray and to be reasonably charitable to each other and the rest of the world!
I have come back from spending a few years working in Venezuela, and I am now ministering in the parish at the Carmelite Church in Kensington Church Street.
I am a fan of St John of the Cross and of Ipswich Town FC, and while unable to cook I am very appreciative of those who can.
As Catholic chaplain at LSE, I am happy to be contacted on 07776 457392, or at iainmatthew@yahoo.com| as well as at the chaplaincy during the middle of the day on Wednesdays and at some other times.
Rev John Scott
Free Churches Chaplain
I am Reverend John Scott. Originally from Ireland, I landed in London at the end of 2005 (via Scotland, Liverpool and Taiwan). The three constant strands in my unusual career so far have been: higher education, Christian ministry and working at the interface of cultural difference.
I worked in distance education in Africa for a time and also teaching Social Sciences with the Open University. In another life, or so it feels, I served as a church minister in Belfast and then in the rural far West of Ireland. Then followed a period as university chaplain in Liverpool. In 2000 I took a masters degree in Chinese Law at SOAS and LSE and my life took an East Asian turn, with periods of further study in Taiwan and subsequent work as a commercial lawyer in Taipei. At the end of 2005 I returned to Europe and to ministry as a university chaplain once more. As well as being around the London School of Economics part-time, I act as "chaplain-at-large" for Reformed/Presbyterian students in London. In this connection I maintain a website at www.londonchap.org|
I always enjoy meeting new people and sharing ideas (especially over a strong cup of black coffee!). I try to be around as much as possible, but please don't hesitate to use technology to grab my attention if you would fancy a chat.
