In June 2008, LSE Finance and General Purposes Committee (FGPC) endorsed a statement on Socially Responsible Investment (SRI) noting that it is a consolidating and clarifying document that sets out some general background and LSE specific background concerning Socially Responsible (Ethical) Investment, relevant current practices, regulations and statutes and actions for 2008/9, which fall mainly under the remit of the FGPC. Subsequently in June 2008 LSE Council endorsed the Statement on Socially Responsible Investment.
In November 2009, Council reviewed and updated the statement on Socially Responsible Investment to add references to divestment from non-transparent hedge funds and to Charity Commission guidelines on Socially Responsible Investment.
