Student accommodation survey

About the survey

  • This year's survey runs from Tuesday 31 January until Friday 15 March 2012.
  • It is open to all LSE students currently living in halls.
  • We're using the University of Bristol's online survey software to gauge your experiences in LSE and University of London halls.
  • By taking part, you're entering a prize draw for Amazon gift vouchers, tour tickets from the International Friends tour group and coffee and tea vouchers to use in the 4th floor restaurant on campus.
  • Responses are anonymous and will be treated in strict confidence. Your LSE Student ID number is asked for verification purposes and to help issue any prize vouchers, should you be one of the lucky winners.

How to take part

To take part and make your feedback heard, please complete the LSE Student Accommodation Survey| [opens in a new window]. Last day for submissions is Friday 15 March 2012.

You spoke - we listened: 2011 survey and feedback

The feedback below was collated from 2011 survey results and from the 2011 'Your hall your call' event, which is organised annually by the LSE Student Union. To find out more about this, visit the LSESU page on 'Your hall your call'| [opens in a new window].

Below is a selection of report statements and our action points. To find out more about how we've used your feedback to improve our accommodation service, download the full Your Hall Your Call action report 2011| [PDF].

You told us that you would like to know more about the Wardens and Sub-wardens. We've installed information screens in many LSE halls on which we display Warden and Sub-Warden photographs along with other critical hall information. We also improved the information for current hall residents| web pages, so you can find Warden related information more easily.

You wanted clear information about planned maintenance work by hall. We created a web page about planned refurbishments work and timetables for completion, which  is regularly reviewed. Visit: Refurbishment and other planned maintenance works|

You also wanted more detailed information about our residences to allow you to compare halls more easily before submitting an application for accommodation. We've developed a new downloadable fees table which, allows rents, services, and room types in each hall to be compared on one page. Visit: Fees|

You said you would like to be consulted when developments are planned in the hall and be involved in the decision making. When developing and implementing plans to develop services, it is now becoming routine to seek student input at the earliest possible stages.

You told us that you wanted to see better attention to resident's dietary requirements. Halal and Kosher meals have now been introduced in all catered halls.
