Permanent Withdrawal from a Programme

Before withdrawing permanently from a course of study, you are advised to meet with your Academic Adviser or supervisor to discuss the options available to you. It may be more appropriate for you to interrupt| your studies instead.

Students wanting to permanently withdraw from a programme should complete the Request to Withdraw| form, also available in Word| and in person at Student Services|. You should then submit a completed form, including the necessary signatures, to Student Services|.

Please complete the form fully including reason for withdrawal. Please note that any incomplete forms may delay processing your withdrawal from your course.

After the form is received by Student Services Centre, you might be contacted by one of the members of staff to confirm and discuss your decision. Subsequently, the form will be submitted for processing and you will receive an email confirmation of your withdrawal within 5 working days from that date (except during the main registration period in September/October, when it may take longer).

Fees

Students are liable to pay fees up to the Friday after the last day of attendance. You will not be charged your tuition fees if you withdraw before 31 October*. Once the registry has received notification of withdrawal, the fees office will be instructed to refund any surplus fees paid to you at your permanent home address. Please ensure via  LSE for You|  that the address we have in the school database is the current one.

*First year students on the MSc in Health Economics, Policy and Management who withdraw on or before the fourth day of teaching in December will not be charged fees.   Students who withdraw after this date will be charged half the annual fee if they have attended one unit of teaching, and the full annual fee if they have attended two units of teaching.
