What is the Student Panel?
The LSE Student Panel is administered by the School's Market Intelligence Officer on behalf of the Student Recruitment Office and the Student Services Centre (SSC). The Panel provides us with a pool of students who have agreed that they are willing to take part in consultations and market research. Panel members will ONLY be asked to participate in research conducted by, or on behalf of, the School: you will NOT be contacted by external research organisations as a result of joining the Panel unless the organisation has been commissioned by LSE to undertake a particular project on our behalf.
Joining the Panel will give you the chance to voice your opinions about the School's services and how these services are delivered. This will help us to make sure that the services we provide are of the highest quality and most appropriate to the students, or potential students, who will be using them and will enhance the experience of current and future students at the School. You may also be asked for your views on possible new programmes or courses.
Any current student at the School can join the Panel; the more members the Panel has, the more representative it will be. You can join the Panel at any time and if you change your mind you can leave at any time.
We would not expect that any Panel member will be contacted more than 6 times in a year; joining the Panel does not commit you to accept all invitations to take part in research, you are obviously free to accept or decline as you wish.
There will be various types of research that you may be asked to take part in, for example:
Completing a simple questionnaire online or by email;
Attending a focus group (usually 1 - 1 & 1/2 hours);
Testing School services by e.g. 'mystery shopping' or using the service under observation.
As a thank you for your participation you may, from time to time, have the opportunity to be entered into prize draws or to earn vouchers, a free lunch or, in some cases, a cash reward.
