The catalogue of the papers of the anthropologist Audrey Isabel Richards is now available online through the Archives Catalogue|.
Audrey Isabel Richards (1899-1984) was a PhD student under the supervision of Professor Charles Seligman| and then lecturer of Social Anthropology at LSE. She carried out her fieldwork mainly amongst the Bemba people in Northern Rhodesia (now Zambia), working also with Professor Bronislaw Malinowski|, and the Buganda people in Uganda.
The collection includes notes written and collected during her fieldwork in the 1930s and 1950s, diaries, notes about books, articles, and lectures, photographs, and personal correspondence.
