The results from the 2008 Archives User Survey are now available. Overall users were extremely positive about the Archives Service with 100% respondents agreeing that the Archives and Rare Books Division provided them with a good service. There were also high levels of satisfaction with Archives staff, the speed of delivery of items and opening hours. There was also strong user support for the continuation for the programme of online publication of archive catalogues.
Following the survey the Archives team will be looking at ways of responding to some of the comments including improving the study space and environment in the Archives Reading Room, streamlining registration procedures where possible, looking to provide subject access to more of our archive collections and continuing to promote our services to LSE staff and students in a wide range of departments.
