Description: The Edward Fry Library of International Law was created as a memorial to Sir Edward Fry, formerly one of the Lords Justices of Appeal, and first delegate of Britain at the Hague Conferences. The Library was created with an initial grant of £3,000 used to purchase the library of Professor Oppenheim, formerly Whewell Professor of International Law. Some books from the personal library of Sir Edward Fry were added to the collections. Most of the collection was integrated into international law section of the main library (JX) but a small number of volumes were transferred to the Rare Books collections.
