Description: A collection of pamphlets collected by the economist William Stanley Jevons (1835-82), FRS, Professor of Political Economy. The earliest item in the collection dates from c1616, but the main coverage is 1770s-1860s. The subject content of the collection mirrors Jevons' wide range of interests: the main focus is on economics and statistics, but it also includes items relating to banking, commerce, chemistry, meteorology, geology and sociology.
