General charges and information

VAT is charged at 20%. All undergraduate and postgraduate students are exempt from VAT. Please tick the appropriate box on the Application for copies for research form (PDF): To view this PDF file you will need Adobe Acrobat Reader. This software is already installed on many computers. However, if you do not have it, you may download it for free from the Adobe website.

A £5 (+ VAT if applicable) minimum charge is payable on all orders paid for by cheque or credit/debit card.

Where possible, we supply double-sided copies. This saves paper and keeps postage and packaging costs down. If you would prefer single-sided copies, please let us know.

Small orders (10 sheets or under) can usually be done immediately for reading room visitors; we aim to complete most other orders for collection the next working day. Larger orders – over 100 copies – will take longer. Completion of orders may also take longer at busy periods and during periods of short-staffing.

Postal charges for photocopying
Prices do not include VAT, which will be charged at 20% if applicable.
Small orders = under 40 sheets (i.e. under 80 photocopies)
Medium orders = 40-100 sheets (i.e. 80-200 photocopies)
Large orders = Over 100 sheets (i.e. over 200 photocopies)

Medium orders: £3.50 – tracked mail
Large orders: courier, charged as per postroom prices – please ask for estimate

Small orders: £1.50 - airmail
Medium orders: £4.00 – airmail - or from £8.00 – courier, recommended for urgent/valuable orders
