The Archives Services Group (LSE Archives) can help you prepare for your visit by providing information on our collections:
-
Contact us in advance with your search request - we can search our full database prior to your visit and send you search results. This will help you to identify the documents you may wish to examine on your visit.
-
Most of our catalogues are available as word processed files, and we are happy to send copies of catalogues, or parts of, for users to study to help them prepare for their visit.
-
All material is stored onsite and is fetched on request. Fetches normally take no more than 10 minutes, and so we do not usually take prior orders for fetches.
-
Please bring specific file references with you as this will speed up locating and fetching material for you.
-
Please note that we operate a limited service at evenings and weekends, and it is advisable to inform us of any material you require in advance if you intend to use the Archives at these times.
-
As well as advising users on our own collections and services we are also happy to offer guidance on other archive-related issues or problems.
-
If you have not used archival material before or would like to practice and develop your research skills, you may find the resources on our Using archive material page useful.
-
Please see Enquiries to contact us regarding our collections.

If you have a disability, and would like information to help you prepare for your visit, please see Users with disabilities.
