These pages offer information on UK government publications. UK Government Collection publications are divided into parliamentary and Departmental publications. In addition to this the Library also has extensive UK Government statistics, election related material and several series of foreign policy documents.

Select the Parliamentary publications| option for details on Hansard and House of Commons or Lords papers, Bils and Command Papers, and Departmental publications| for information on material produced by individual governemnt departments. Why not keep up to date with UK Government publications via the LSE Library Research blog|

A good place to start looking at UK Government resources is www.politicsresources.net|. It links to a wide range of material demonstrating the variety of publications available.

The more recent British Government Publications are shelved at 42 in the Government Publications section on the 1st Floor. It is a running number sequence, with items 42(5001-) located on the 1st floor.  All other material is located on the Lower Ground Floor with the 19th century parliamentary papers held in Closed Access.

Material relating to Scotland (41), Northern Ireland (416), London (421) and Wales (429) is located on the Lower Ground Floor.  421 classmarks display on the catalogue as being located on the 1st Floor when they are actually located on the Lower Ground Floor, along with the other countries.
