Data Centres 

A great deal of data is available from the National Data Centres listed below. LSE staff and students can register with them for access to extensive and up-to-date datasets for download or browsing:

The Economic and Social Data Service (ESDS)|

National data service that provides access and support for an extensive range of key economic and social data, both quantitative and qualitative, spanning many disciplines and themes. Includes World Bank data and international surveys

UK Data Archive|

This is the UK central repository for data materials. Major collections are taken from the Office for National Statistics in the shape of large UK Government Surveys.

MIMAS|

Offers a number of data related facilities using data resources provided by other organisations. 1991 Census can be accessed at MIMAS, along with Bartholomew's maps.

EDINA|

Based at Edinburgh University and provides to mapping services, UK Borders (digital boundary data) and DIGIMAP (Ordnance Survey Map data).

Roper Center|

The Roper Center for Public Opinion Research is the leading educational facility in the field of public opinion.

Inter-University Consortium for Political and Social Research (ICPSR)|

Maintains and provides access to a vast archive of social science data for research in the US.
