i-roam - the LSE laptop loan service

The i-roam service makes laptops available for staff and students to borrow for use in the Library during term time. The laptops are located in the blue charging cabinets in the Course Collection and allow users access to the internet, email (via web-mail), personal file space (H: space) and Microsoft Office applications. Users will be able to connect to the LSE wireless network by using their LSE network username and password on the laptops.

i-roam laptops are only for use by LSE staff and students and will need to be issued via the self-service machines. They must not be removed from the Library and the loan period for a laptop is 6 hours. At the end of the loan period the laptop must be returned at a Course Collection self-service machine and then plugged back into a charging cabine to ensure readiness for other users.

It is hoped that LSE staff and students find the i-roam service useful and if you encounter any problems with a laptop please take it to the IT Help Desk on the first floor of the Library.

The laptops will be removed from the Course Collection during the vacation period for essential maintenance.  They will be back in the Course Collection and available to borrow on Monday 10 January.
