New look for the Library catalogue

On 21 September the Library introduced a new catalogue system http://catalogue.lse.ac.uk| which many of you may already have seen as the Beta Catalogue.

Our feedback and testing had showed that students overwhelmingly preferred the new look and its improved features. These features include the ability to sort search results by using various facets e.g. limit by publication date, topic or type of material such as electronic books and journals, easier login requiring only LSE username and password, ability to save results into Delicious, compile favourites lists or set up RSS feeds of items. Complex searches can still be run very via the Advanced Search option if prefered and Items in other Libraries or information from Google books can now also be searched very easily.

A short video showing the new look and feel can be viewed at https://catalogue.lse.ac.uk/About/Home|

The old catalogue is still available, but with a new name ‘Classic Catalogue’ and a new address: http://classic.catalogue.lse.ac.uk|

Please do let us know if you have any more feedback on the new catalogue at Library.ideas@lse.ac.uk|
