To check out or return books, please use the self-service machines in the Course Collection and on the ground floor of the Main Collection.
To check out a book using self-service you will need your library card and your PIN. Instructions are clearly displayed on the screen and will walk you through all the necessary steps. If you need any further assistance or a demonstration of how these machines work, please ask one of the Library floorwalkers or at the service counter. Please keep your receipt as this lets you know when your books are due back.
To return a book, you don't need to present your card. Simply press the return button on the screen and follow the instructions on the screen. Please make sure you keep your receipt. If you don't get a receipt, speak to a member of staff as this may mean that your items have not been returned.
It is important to note that there are 2 types of self-service machine in the Library; one for Course Collection and one for Main Collection books. Both operate slightly differently but floor walkers can help if you are having problems.
