Welcome Area
There will be a welcome point for students in the Escape area of the Library during Freshers Week. You'll be able to talk to Library staff, pick up your student guide and your Library oyster card holder.
You can also pick up an audio tour| from the Library. Audio tours are one of the best way to familiarise yourself with the layout of the Library and to uncover some of the gems from our collection that you might otherwise miss.
Library Floorwalkers
You will find floorwalkers or roaming members of staff all around the library, but especially around the Course Collection and Self-service areas. They are there to help with any enquiries you might have and will do their best to help you through the queues.
Whether you need help using the Self Service machines, looking up Reading lists or your library PIN, the floorwalkers are there to help. Floorwalkers will be identifiable by the large LSE badges they will be wearing.
Help Desk (First Floor)
The Help Desk is right in front of you when you take the stairs or come out of the lift on the first floor. It is staffed by both Library and IT Services to answer some of the more in-depth questions you might have, be they finding books or connecting to wi-fi.
Bring your queries here for:
-
General library enquiries and assistance in locating relevant library materials for your studies and research. If you are not in the Library use the Email enquiry service.
-
IT related enquiries, questions about your LSE network account or if you require assistance using the software available at LSE. For further information, click here.
Service Counter (Ground Floor)
The service counter is a good first point of contact, go there for loans enquiries, general queries and anything else you think to ask about.
