From Monday 11 January through to the end of exams (including the May Bank Holiday's) the Library will be open for 24 hours for LSE Students and LSE Staff only. However, please note, the opening times will differ during Easter week. On 1, 6 and 7 April, the Library is open from 10am-9pm (these are School closure days) and in line with national bank holidays, the Library is closed from 2-5 April.
For all other Library users, term time opening hours| apply.

Admission during 24 hour opening

Admission during extended opening is for LSE Students and LSE Staff only. Please bring a valid Library card - you cannot gain entry without it!

Access for visitors is from 8am to midnight. Only LSE students and staff may remain in the building during extended opening. Checks will be carried out throughout the night by Security and non-LSE members will be asked to leave.

Library rules
Normal Library rules| apply during 24 hour opening, including:

No food or drink (other than water in a re-sealable bottle) is permitted through the turnstiles or in the Library, except in Escape.

Smoking is not permitted anywhere in the Library

Mobile phones must be switched off or set to silent mode when entering the building (you may go to Escape or a designated 'Phone Zone' for voice calls)

Do not attempt to reserve study spaces by leaving personal belongings when you leave the building. A scheme is in place to monitor this and a yellow and red card notice system used to release spaces reserved in this way.
Safety and security

CCTV cameras are in operation in the Library and the Plaza will be patrolled regularly throughout the night.

There is a public telephone in the Library Lobby with details of two approved taxi firms.

Please take care of personal property while in the Library.

The school provides a secure cycle storage area for up to 60 bicycles at Tower Three, to use this facility please report to Tower Three reception to obtain a swipe card to enter the secure storage area.

Important: You may eat and drink in Escape and the Lobby areas only.
Please do not bring food or drink (except water) into the main Library area. Security staff will patrol regularly throughout the night. Anyone found eating or drinking will be asked to leave.
