1. How do I login to the ILL form now. My Pin does not work?
You now need to use your LSE IT Login and password to access the form rather than your Library barcode and PIN.
2. Do I still need to sign a copyright declaration before I can access my request?
No. Copyright is now covered by the ILL request form.
3. How many times can I download the document?
Once. Please remember you cannot download the document to two different devices either.
4. How long will the download be available to me for?
From the time you download the document you will have 14 days to read and print the document. You will have 30 days from the receipt of the link to the secure download of the document to download it.
5. Does it matter what Web browser I use?
No. LSE Library have not been alerted to any major Web browsers that do not allow access to the FileOpen plugin.
6. Can I download this to a mobile device?
Yes. Please remember that if you do this you may not be able to print the document.
7. Can I choose to still have a paper copy?
If you will have a problem using a digital version of the material you need then please e-mail the IDD team for advice before you place an ILL.
8. Do I still need to pay 10p for each journal and book chapter request?
No. As you now print out the document yourself the Library does not need to charge for each document
9. Can I get the IDD team to print out my document?
No. You will need to print the document yourself when you receive the link to the secure download of your document.
10. Can I print my document in the LSE Library?
Yes. You will be able to download the document and print it as you would any other document. All the programs you need to access your secure download of your document have been tested on LSE Library pcs to make sure they are compatible.
11. The document did not print out properly and I can't access the document again?
If you can no longer access your document then you will need to contact the IDD team. We can offer advice to make sure that this does not happen again and re-order the document if necessary. Please be aware that we cannot guarantee we can re-order documents so please check the instructions sent with the link to the secure download of the document before you open the document to print.
12. Can I share this document with colleagues ?
You are not allowed to forward the document on to other colleagues or print out extra copies for them but you may print out the document for use in group work with your colleagues.
13. Can I request this document again?
Only if you have had a problem accessing or printing the document. You will need to contact the IDD team before submitting a new request.
14. Will this new service mean that I will be able to get my document quicker?
Yes. You will not need to wait for the IDD team to print your document out.
15. How any of these requests can I make?
The limit on requests will remain at 10 per week. Please contact the IDD team if you need to make a large block of requests for literature reviews and other research projects.
