Interlending and Document Delivery (IDD)

If there is something that you need for your research and you cannot obtain it within the Library then the IDD service is here to help you.

We specialise in obtaining material for your use from the holdings of other libraries both within the UK and from around the world.

Changes to your Inter Library Loans

From 30th January most of the articles and chapters you request will be supplied electronically. Instead of collecting a paper copy from the library you'll be sent a link to a secure download of the document.

IMPORTANT: You can only download your document ONCE. You cannot transfer it to another device.   It will be available on your computer for 14 days. If you need more time to consult it you'll need to print it out before it expires.

Before you click the link make sure you complete the following steps:

Download Adobe Reader (version 4.0 or later)

Download the FileOpen plugin at this link: http://plugin.fileopen.com|

If this is your first time using FileOpen, download the test document at the link above.

A few articles will still be supplied as paper copies. These can be collected from the library service counter as before.

Please see our FAQ page for further information.
