Lending Policy

We operate different lending policies for UK and International Collection.

UK Customers

We will supply:

• Items held in the Main Collection, Reserve Books,  Schapiro, Russian, Government and Inter Governmental collections
• Copies of journal and newspaper articles, statistics and pamphlets subject to copyright restrictions and the condition of the item
• Government and Inter Governmental Periodicals with exceptions as noted below

We are unable to loan:

• Items held in the Course Collection
• Items held in the Reference Collection
• Items held in the Statistics or Historical Statistics Collection
• Items held in the Lakatos Collection
• Pamphlets
• Newspapers
• United Nations and United States Government Documents
• Periodical parts or bound volumes
• Items published before 1850
• Computer manuals
• Thesis
• United Nations United States Government and European Union periodicals
• Microfilm and microfiche

Unless specified, all items are supplied for home reading.  Full replacement costs including an administrative charge will be made if the item is lost. 

International Customers

We will supply:

• Items held in the Main Collection,  Government and Inter Governmental  collections
• Copies of journal and newspaper articles, statistics and pamphlets subject to copyright restrictions and the condition of the item

We are unable to loan:

• Items held in the Reserve books, Lakatos, Schapiro, and Russian Collections
• Items held in the Course Collection
• Items held in the Reference Collection
• Items held in the Statistics or Historical Statistics Collection
• Pamphlets
• Newspapers
• United Nations and United States Government Documents
• Periodical parts or bound volumes Items published before 1900
• Computer manuals
• Thesis
• Microfilm and microfiche

Material supplied to international customers is for use on library premises only unless special arrangements have been made with us to cater for a special educational need.

All items should be returned via Air Mail.  Full replacement costs including an administrative charge will be made if the item is lost.
