About me

Heather is an Academic Support Librarian based in the Information Services Department where her main role is in Collection Development. This involves selection of books from North America and grey literature from British think tanks and charities. She also works as a subject editor for Intute| actively seeking out and cataloguing new Internet resources for social science subject areas.

As an Academic Support Librarian she sends out regular newsletters, arranges training sessions on e-sources and generally provides help in effective use and development of Library collections.

Teaching and research support

  • Providing staff and students with support in maximising their effective use of library resources.
  • Planning of individual and group sessions on literature searching and effective use of the Internet for academic research.
